One of the most creative, colourful and inspiring installations of the Milan design week 2010. a space that echoes the digital techno-organic world we live in. Soft organic shapes realised through a morphic material to create a sensual living environment. evoking an alternative way of experiencing the home environment. A smart sustainable home with DuPont™ Corian® by Karim Rashid. Every area of the home, from kitchen and bathroom to bedroom, garden and undulating walls, has been realised by Karim Rahsid using this high-performance, forward-looking material and each area features specific solutions for enhanced efficiency. Light, colour, pattern and playfulness characterise the welcoming pod-like environment. Realised through of the creative vision of Karim Rashid and the scientific expertise of DuPont, “Smart-ologic Corian® Living” offers ideas, concepts and solutions for the ongoing ‘re-thinking’ of design and technology in the living environment.

The ‘Smart-ologic Corian® Living’ project gave me the opportunity to design a modular holistic house concept, a metaphor for how materials, technologies, housing, furnishings and space can work together to evoke an increased sense of experience, positively affect our psyche and bring us a better contemporary life, while also enabling us to reduce the environmental imprint of our daily decisions and actions, says Karim. Smart-ologic Corian® Living is a smart and sustainable home concept exploiting the superior versatility and sensual qualities of DuPont™ Corian®. The project showcases the colour, variety and adaptability of Corian®, including the new 2010 series with recycled content, plus proposes a “futuristic type” of Corian® made with environmentally sustainable bio-based components and with recycled material.
