Sheet Steel Clad Open Ended Volume Yerger Residence
The project takes the form of an architecture based on concrete cast on site on which a floating steel clad volume-ended and a volume of masonry are located. The project goal was to focus views to the landmark to capture it and do it consistently presenced experience in the home while creating other times introspective experience.
The interior finishes of the project juxtapose highly refined materials with industrial raw materials to enhance the unique qualities of each other. The interior finishes are made of polished wenge joinery, non-directional stainless steel counters, white Carrara marble, and terrazzo. The sunken garden allows for a cooler outer space that promotes outdoor exercise in the exercise area inside. An entry sequence leading from the street, along a koi pond, into the entry, and to a negative edge pool distinguish the main public spaces and master suite while offering a place of repose. The main living space of the house maintains an open plan configuration and borrows Camelback Mountain and brings it into this space. via..
